Montana's Three Districts

GFWC Montana is organized into three districts—Eastern, Central, and Western. These districts help connect clubs across our large and diverse state while providing opportunities for leadership, collaboration, education, and service.

Each district reflects the unique character of the communities it serves. From the rolling prairies and wide-open spaces of Eastern Montana, to the agricultural communities and historic towns of Central Montana, to the mountain valleys and vibrant communities of Western Montana, clubwomen across the state are united by a shared commitment to volunteer service and community improvement.

Districts provide opportunities for local clubs to work together on projects, share ideas, celebrate accomplishments, and support one another. Throughout the year, district meetings, conventions, and leadership events bring members together to strengthen friendships, develop skills, and advance the mission of the General Federation of Women's Clubs.

The Eastern District includes clubs serving communities throughout eastern Montana. Current member clubs include Big Timber, Billings Junior Woman's Club, Billings Woman's Club, and Culbertson Woman's Club. The district celebrates the spirit of Montana's plains, ranching communities, and strong tradition of volunteer service. 

The Central District Includes local clubs in Glacier Park, Fairfield, Fort Benton, Helena, and Madison Valley.  The District connects clubs located in the heart of Montana. Members work together to support local communities, promote civic engagement, and continue the long tradition of women making a difference through volunteerism.

The Western District serves clubs throughout western Montana's mountain and valley communities. Includes local clubs in Bitterrot, Deer Lodge, Plains, MIssion Valley, Thompson Falls, and Missoula.  The district reflects the beauty, resilience, and community spirit that define the western part of the state while supporting the GFWC mission of improving lives through service.

While each district has its own identity and traditions, all Montana clubwomen share a common purpose: strengthening communities, developing leaders, and creating positive change through volunteer service.

General Federation of Womens Clubs (GFWC) Regions

The General Federation of Women’s Clubs (GFWC) is organized into eight geographic regions across the United States and affiliated areas. Each region is made up of multiple state federations that work together to support leadership development, membership engagement, service initiatives, and communication throughout the organization.

Montana is part of the Western States Region, which includes Alaska, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, Oregon, Utah, Washington, and Wyoming.

The South Central Region includes Arizona, Arkansas, Louisiana, New Mexico, Oklahoma, and Texas.

The Southeastern Region includes the District of Columbia, Kentucky, Maryland, North Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, and West Virginia.

The Southern Region includes Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Mississippi, South Carolina, Aruba, and Belize.

The Great Lakes Region includes Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Ohio, and Wisconsin.

The Middle Atlantic Region includes Delaware, New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania.

The New England Region includes Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, and Vermont.

The Central States Region includes Iowa, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, and South Dakota.

These regions provide opportunities for collaboration, training, leadership development, and networking among clubs and state federations. Through regional conferences, meetings, and service initiatives, clubwomen connect with members across state lines while advancing the mission of GFWC to strengthen communities through volunteer service.
